【2019年　海外短期フィールドワーク 児童発達学科 報告09】

今日から2日間は、保育所での実習になります。5人がシムカ保育園の3つのクラスに入って実習をしました。初日は主に見学実習ですが、子どもたちとなるべく一緒に遊んで、子どもの目線からいろいろ学んでいました。おやつの時間も一緒に参加して、子どもとの距離が近くなっていました。

The students went to three preschools for their internships today.  Five students went to Simcha preschool.

In Simcha preschool, there are three classes for 2-year olds, 3-4-year olds, and 4-5 year olds.  The students spent the first day mainly observing a class, playing with the children, and seeing how they were learning.  They also had snack with the children in each classroom.  They kept saying “Children are so adorable!”

4名の学生が、カブリヨ大学の子どもセンターの2つのクラスに入りました。学生たちは外遊びをしている時間が多かったようです。3−4歳児クラスのサークルタイムでは、飛行機の写真を見せて、学生たちが日本からどうやってきたのかや日本を話すこと、1から10までの日本語での数え方を、何度もみんなで練習してくれました。二人の学生の膝には、すでに外遊びで仲良くなった女の子が座って聞いていました！

Four students went to Cabrillo Children’s Center, two for Toddler class and two for Preschool class.  They spent much time playing outside.  For a circle time of the toddler class, the teacher talked about two students from Japan.  She showed a picture of airplane and continued talking about how the students came to the US and what language they speak.  She introduced how to count 1 to 10 in Japanese.  Some children already sat on the student’s lap.

4−5歳児のクラスでは、おやつ前のグループ活動で絵本読みをしていました。その後フルーツをそれぞれによそって、おやつを楽しみました。

In the preschool, each student joined a group of children reading a book before snack time.  And they enjoyed having papaya fruit and blueberries for their snack.

毎年、現地のスタッフやカブリヨ大学関係者とのランチョンがあるのですが、今年は皆さん忙しくて、来れたのはジーンとエバとジンスさんでした。しかし、このプログラムのキーパーソンでもあるため、今年のプログラムの反省点や来年以降の計画などの話し合いができました。

We usually had more people for our annual luncheon, but they were so busy that we were not able to find the time for everyone to join.  However, it was so nice to have Jean, Eva, and Jinsu at the luncheon and we reviewed the program and discussed future plans including succession planning.
