男の子と女の子とのグループができるのはどこの国でも同じなんでしょうね。休み時間もこのように分かれて遊んでいました。

Young children tend to play with same-sex children. A group of boys is here and a group of girls at the table over there.

この男のこのスナックをのぞくと、「これはすしだよ」と教えてくれて、カリフォルニアロールが入っていました。箸も使えると言っていましたが、箸というより大きなピンセットのようでした！

I looked into this boy’s lunch box. He told me that it was Sushi. He also said that he could use chopsticks but they didn’t look like training chopsticks, more like a giant pair of tweezers or tongs! They must be hard to use!

ハミングバードルーム（Ｋ-クラス）の今日のスケジュールがこれです。”Art project with girls”というのが学生たちの部分実習のことのようです。

This is a daily schedule in Hummingbird Hall (Kindergarten). It says “Art project with girls” meaning Bunkyo students’ activity.

いよいよ練習してきた部分実習の始まりです。なんとかでんでん太鼓の説明をし、子どもたちに絵を描いてもらって、みんなで音を鳴らして楽しみました。強くたたいてビーズがかなり飛んでいましたが！

Finally, it’s Showtime. They explained about a denden drum (a small pellet drum used as a children’s toy) and told them to draw anything such as characters and someone’s faces they like on both sides of the paper plates. The children ended up enjoying making sounds by turning the plates.

この２年生のクラスは今日、急にサブの先生になり、子どもたちは厳しそうな先生に緊張気味でしたが、休み時間はこうやって女の子グループが集まって楽しそうにスナックを食べていました。

This class had a substitute teacher today so children looked nervous in the classroom but a group of girls were cheerful and talkative during a recess.
