The students of the University of Veliko Turnovo are waiting for you
We were given a warm welcome to the University of Veliko Turnovo by Prof Marinova. Prof Marinova showed us around the campus which is located just outside of the city. It is on the top of a hill and you can see the city from there. In fact, you can see Tsaverets, the old castle, from the windows of the classrooms. The views are really quite breathtaking.
About 60 students study Japanese at the university. Every year in May the students hold a Japanese Culture Festival. They prepare many different activities like calligraphy, flower arranging, Japanese dramas, and, of course, Japanese food. It is a very popular event. About 1,000 people attend every year.
Prof Marinova said that her students are really excited about meeting you. They are planning on guiding you around and they want to hear about your lives in Japan. It will surely be a great opportunity.
